One more Tax is expected to be taken from Pakistanis Rs. 2 per each Rs 100 card in account of Radio tax.

It is reported that a parliamentary committee on Information and Broadcasting is thinking to put one more tax for mobile users on each card of Rs 100. In the committee meeting Information Minister Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan was also present and she showed her concern with Radio Pakistan by offering the idea of deducting Rs. 2 for tax.

According to Dr.Awan this tax will be applicable after annual budget 2011-12.

On the other side Telecom industry is not appreciating the idea. They believe Telecom industry is not accountable for the losses or slump of any organization.

An official of a mobile company said:

“Telecom operators won’t become collection service for the government, we will severely oppose this”, he also suggest the government to use utility bills for any kind of charity.

As the mobile operators in Pakistan are already paying highest taxes, imposing one more can hit on the business of Telecom industry.
